| this yuletide season is the most special holiday for everybody including friends, foes etc..
christmas is a tradional occasion like we filipinos prepared...
giving gifts, singing carols,noche buena feast and most of all family reunion,
my question is this, in your own opinion..what is the meaning of christmas..
what is the essence of this celebration?
a celebration of what?
what is the true meaning of this?

| @thread starter In considering those questions, the custom of Christmas comes from pagan nature & I am not celebrating it. Jesus was not born on December 25. He was born about October 1, a time of year when shepherds kept their flocks out-of-doors at night. (Luke 2:8-12) Jesus never commanded Christians to celebrate his birth. Rather, he told his disciples to memorialize, or remember, his death. (Luke 22:19, 20) Christmas and its customs come from ancient false religions. Wider implication is that most people who profess religious faith give little thought to why they believe what they do or to whether there is a reasonable basis for their faith. In the view of the subject is not healthy to confer in this forum & I am reluctant to talk about, just saying my opinions & I do respect your beliefs.  | |
